Thank you for downloading and installing Nkraata v1.0 (Personal Edition). Before you use Nkraata, make sure you have successfully installed the Akan Keyboard Layout (whose installer is kickstarted as soon as Nkraata installation ends). Nkraata allows direct keyboard input of Akan characters from a US English keyboard. The program loads the Akan keyboard layout on startup to render the US English keyboard as an Akan keyboard within the running application thread. Nkraata is also packaged with a special set of Unicode fonts which allow the correct rendering of the Akan characters on a computer display.

The fonts are listed below;

• Code 2000

• Chrysanthi Unicode

• Doulos SIL

• DejaVu Sans

• DejaVu Serif

• FreeMono

• FreeSerif

• Lucida Sans Unicode
